When we launched the ‘We Care’ program in May, 2009, we hoped to find families exactly like Todd & Shannon Barber, along with newborn triplets. a local firefighter, must be on duty when a storm threatens our area, leaving Shannon home alone with three small babies in an unprotected home. Company President, Brian Rist, states “While we received hundreds of nominations, we felt really good about doing something to help a family with such an obvious need.”
Once a month, during the 2009 hurricane season, Storm Smart will select a nominee to receive a whole house of free hurricane protection. In order to nominate yourself, a family member, friend, or neighbor, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it nominating a person based on need, circumstances, or merit. The only requirement is the person nominated must be the owner of the home being protected. Our selection team will review all nominations and will select a winner each month. So, what’s it like to win a free house full of hurricane protection?
